Highlights from the JD Edwards Nordic Conference

The JD Edwards Nordic Conference wrapped up earlier in May, with great success. Over 100 attendees joined us to share insights, learn from experts, and connect with peers in the industry. Let's dive into some of the highlights of this year's event.

Christian Ostenfeldt, Managing Director at xperitus, summed it up perfectly:

The conference serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and updates, and for fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas within the JDE community.

Attendee Perspectives

Many attendees shared this sentiment, saying they attended the conference to learn about opportunities for improvement, network with like-minded professionals, and strengthen their team's cohesion in a setting outside the usual work environment.

Michael Nilsson, a manager of application specialists at Toyota, shared his perspective on the conference, stating:

– The event serves as a valuable team-building opportunity for us. It fosters internal discussions and the exposure to new possibilities within the system gives a lot of new ideas. It is also a great opportunity to interact with other professionals who face similar challenges. Despite operating in different industries, we often find ourselves wrestling with the same issues.

Top 5 Discussed Topics

The energy was tangible at this year's event, with animated discussions around several key topics. Things that stood out as being on top of many participants minds where:

    1. Upgrading projects to navigate challenges and harness the power of the latest technology
    2. Implementing efficient workflows and standardized work processes
    3. Addressing data quality issues
    4. Reverting from specific customizations to standard functionality
    5. Increased automation and adopting a more proactive approach

It's encouring to see that JDE customers really are looking into investing in their next phase of digitalization, noted Christian Fronteras, CTO–Cloud at Redfaire International.

Agenda Highlights

A significant feature of the conference was the introduction of Release 23 – Your Digital ERP. Oracle's Mark Herwege and Bart Vanden Abeele demonstrated how this new release delivers cutting-edge innovation that automates, optimizes, and transforms business processes.

Breakout sessions offered a deep dive into specific JDE features and ways to streamline business processes. Topics spanned from Kanban management in manufacturing to warehouse resource optimization, to the use of UDO’s to boost efficiency, and much more.

JDE customers also had their share of the spotlight; Svenska Foder sharing their success stories, and Volvo Penta and PreZero participating in a panel discussion.

The day concluded with a presentation by AJ Schifano, on link from Denver, on the transformative shift from Process Automation to Enterprise Automation.
