Announcing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 25
Autumn is in full swing and it is time to both start summarizing 2024 as well as starting to plan and prepare for 2025. JDE is no exception and as tradition has it Oracle is announcing a new release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne – JDE Release 25!
In January xperitus was proud to announce that we were the first partner worldwide to officially bring a customer to Release 24 and we have since helped several other customers up to the latest release level. With JDE Release 25 now just announced we are super excited about what 2025 will bring. As usual Oracle will drop incremental releases during 2025, both on the functional as well as on the technical side of JDE. Here are just some of the highlights in the initial release:
Financials:
Alphanumeric Account Ids – allows for practically unlimited accounts. Our experience is that our customer’s businesses are expanding and consolidating; if your organization is global and focused on mergers and acquisitions, to allow easy maintenance of accounting history and pre-merged accounts greatly simplifies the merger processes. Let EnterpriseOne be the enabler and facilitator of company expansion, mergers and acquisitions – not a roadblock.
2-way voucher match automation: let EnterpriseOne automate the voucher matching of expense invoices to purchase orders; this automation enhancement increases the matching percentage and reduces labor costs This is a good opportunity to review your A/P processes so you are not performing unnecessary tasks for voucher processing.
Distribution – Enterprise Automation:
Oracle has spent a lot of effort in developing new Enterprise Automation (EA) features; let’s start with the Enterprise Process Modeler - a completely new tool for modelling your distribution processes. The Process Modeler visual modelling tool allows you to not only design complete business processes but also the relationships between different processes. It allows you to define metrics and KPIs about those processes, as well as visualizing a real-time view of how those processes are running.
As a foundational piece of the Enterprise Automation framework, the Enterprise Process Modeler enables you to define, monitor, and measure the processes that are essential to your operations. This is a big step forward in structuring, visualizing, measuring and improving the processes spanning the entire enterprise.
Also introduced in Release 25 are new EA pages for both Order to cash and Procure to pay with warehouse integrations, new process model templates for both Sales and Procurement you can use as a base in the Process Modeler for starting to model your processes.
Digitalization:
It is now possible to call Orchestrations, Notifications and Logic Extensions directly from an application’s Form or Row Exits. Considering all possibilities for automation, integration and functional extension that the Orchestrator allows, the need of costly modifications to standard applications is even more reduced.
Speaking of the Orchestrator, new features are introduced in the initial Release 25 drop such as the possibility to automatically include system variable data in orchestration output and simplifying lists of criteria in orchestration rules.
User Experience:
In addition to the new Enterprise Automation pages, improvement to regular E1 pages now allows you to add texts and images directly to a page, allowing you to tailor your E1 pages to better align with both your company’s graphical profile as well as make the processes more relatable and understandable for users new to EnterpriseOne.
BI and reporting:
Updates to the DAD (Data Access Driver) for BI Publisher Enterprise/OAS allows BIP to connect to multiple EnterpriseOne environments and allows for simple data collection, consolidation and reporting. Very useful for large organizations with e.g. company or country specific environments or customers using archiving tools with multiple archive environments.
System administration:
Developers can now access Server Manager information such as APIs and log files to help identify development issues. In addition, Oracle now delivers an out of the box example of a fully automated package build process using Orchestrations. This means that there is no longer any need for 3rd party solutions for scheduled package builds and the as the build orchestrations can be scheduled there is a lot of labor cost to be saved.
